All Honda after 2004 have imobiliser chips in the key so as the car cannot be stolen. Transponder Key
They are not removable without spending thousands on a brand new aftermarket ECU.
So the best thing to have is a back-up key so you can still use the car in the event of misplacing or losing the key.

HONDA KEY TECH INFO: I have been working on honda key systems for about 10 years. With the correct software the genuine Honda remote keys are quick to program in. After 2007 the honda remote keys are an integrated circuit this means that the honda remote and immobiliser is programmed at the same time. this requires an indepth knowelege of the honda remote key systems.
Honda keys before 2007 are programmed in seperately and the remote is not intergrated with the transponder chip.
The Honda transponder chip key can be programmed in first using diagnostics or cloning. The Honda remote part is programmed in via manual sequence.
