All Audi Keys/ Volkswagen Keys / Skoda Keys after 1995 are a Megamos / crypto Transponder Key. When your key is lost and you have no spare. Your favorite VW could be off the road for up to 4 weeks until a precoded pre cut VW key is sent from Germany to be programmed in.
Sometimes when the key arrives it doesn't work and you have wasted that time and money waiting. "that really sucks"
